The future of mobile browser image loading

Mobile browsing has always had several drawbacks where modern day responsive design has sought to address the need for m. sites for mobile browsing and circumventing the need to developing a pure mobile site. Ultimately the internet browser’s attractiveness for 90% of internet users tend to lean towards aesthetics and design of every web page, be it for information or recreation. The issue that hasn’t quite yet been solved is the loading of images across cellular networks like 3G or LTE. Even with high speeds, there seems to be little justification for the use of full sized images on palm sized display devices like iPads and smartphones.

The tag seeks to change all that, however it’s still in the pipeline with all the different community groups still trying to garner more support for it. It is only going to be as useful as the browser support for it.
